Back in the saddle again

Since I read enough times that the newer Harleys have improved EFI systems that have a wider latitude of compensation capability, I put the SE Stage 1 AC and SE mufflers on. Sure enough, no need to remap. Runs great. Funny how some dealers seem to have missed the memo on this. My dealer seems to be one of the better ones and confirmed that there was no need to remap with stage 1 on 2007 and newer bikes.

I read an earlier post about a hd recall with a weld problem on the jiffy stand.

Well, this is directly from Vance and Hines website
"Your fuel injected ride is equipped with an ECU (electronic control unit) that is programmed to deliver fuel to the motor based on an air/fuel ratio for a stock air filter and stock exhaust system.
While the ECU can self-adjust for environmental factors such as temperature and altitude, it can't adjust for mechanical changes like adding performance parts. When you install a performance exhaust system, your airflow changes, so you need a fuel management system that adjusts your air/fuel ratio to match the changes."

i would do the slipons with no remap, then later a breather with a fuelpak or power commander.. i would never pay the dealer for a remap ..my opinion

Sure they do. Just thought it interesting to post their side of things in here.
