Default water gets inside fuel gauge?

After washing and air blowing my 2008 Fat Bob I start seeing water condensation inside of the window of fuel gauge. I asked dealership and mechanic told me all fuel gauge has water leak so it it useless to change to new one. Is that true? Anybody has similar problem? Pls advise. Thank you!

I don't notice it on my fuel gauge but my speedometer fogs every once in a while. I think it's a pretty common issue.

I was replacing the fuel gauge the other day and noticed the rubber grommet on the underside the wries go thru was pulled out and made note to be sure the grommet was secure on the new gauge.
You might check to see if it's pulled out, it could have something to do with it I suppose.

Mine did it too, before I switched to the flush mount.

Your not the only one, i think 80% of all harleys have some condensation issues.

The solution is to pop out the gauge when blow drying the bike, seems water leaks in under the gauge whil washing. The gauge just pops up real easy, do that and blow the bike down, give that area a shot of air then leave gauge out til next time you ride. This will take care of the problem.

Very common issue and even happens sometimes as a result of the weather, not just washing and drying. When it happens to mine, I just let it sit out in the sun and it will go away. I've heard of guys having them swapped out and still having the issue. Same is true for the speedo.
