Default Chrome Lower Fork Sliders with drainplugs.

Does anyone know if installing the 07 and later fork kit(46589-06A) on an 06 WG will work? If so it should give me the drain plugs for the fork oil?!?!?!?

Looks like this kit is designed for 06 and later WG. I don't believe drain plugs are a part of the kit. In fact, I just got my kit today that I ordered off ebay for $100. I can check the lowers to verify if they have drain plugs but I seriously doubt it.

I just inspected the chrome lowers from that kit. They DO NOT have drain plugs. Agreeing with Rockon, this is kind of ****. I remember my $900 '78 yamaha had drain plugs. Why not a $17k hd? Just doesn't make sense.

don't understand why it says 07 and later in description when they are the same part# for 06-08 though. Maybe a typo.

Actually, the descriptions I've read state "06-07 Wide Glide". It should also fit 08's because they are also 49mm front ends.

This is so frustrating, because if I had drain plugs, I'd have already changed out my fork oil to something better...the 15w SE or whatever rating it is. It's about as simple as a mod gets, and it's actually worthwhile and makes a difference in ride and handling. Of course I don't, so it's a big production trying to change it...

I hear ya, Rockon. Since I have this kit in front of me, I may be a little proactive and install my own plugs in it. Makes sense since this would be the time to do that sort of mod...before installation. It would seem an awful lot of work to disassemble the forks to do it but if you maybe plan on doing new springs up front, you could do it then.

The 08's have a metric sized axle.
