Default Lowering a wide glide

Anyone have a good solution for lowering the wide glides? I have looked at the harley shocks kit, and also saw the brackets on ebay that will lower the rear end on a wide glide, but does someone have any experience with either? Is it better to get short shocks, or move the mounts for the stock shocks??
I would eventually like to shorten the front and the rear most likely, but for starters I want to lower the rear. If you can provide some personal insight into this I would be grateful.
thanks,
ron.

I lowered the rear of my 05 Wideglide with Harley's rear shock kit. It was $236. I looked at the progressive as well. I put progressives on my Intruder I had and it was better for that bike, but I tought The Wideglide's suppension was a better ride. So it lowered the rear about 1". I think it looks just fine that way. The install is pretty easy with a motor cycle jack.

PS my current picture does not have the new shocks.

Lower it??? There aint enough ground clearance as it is. Given the choice, I'd RAISE mine an inch to get round the corners quicker

DON'T buy the brackets! you'll also be alot happier if you lower both front and back at the same time. recommended to keep steering geometry consistant w/ stock. riding one up should be no problem for the twisties.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it and I will probly use the rear shocks, and maybe do the front later. But I want to at least lower the rear and then see how it rides/handles. If uncomfortable to me then I will do the front.
Thanks for the help,
ron.

I think it depends on how tall you are.
I know I wish my ride was a little shorter to help me back it up when I'm kinda high centered, or parked on a down hill slope.
Trust me, I do not want to do it for 'looks'
I didn't lower my 1200C.
later,
ron.
