Default exhaust - not too loud

newbie question.

going to trade in my 2007 sporty for a 09 street bob. I will want to get new exhaust, but I have a bit of a problem in that I live in Denver Colorado who this past year passed a noise ordinance that allows the man to ticket you if your pipes dont have an epi sticker. I think it needs to be below 80 db's or whatever the stock pipes are at.

I can get louder pipes and get away with it as long as they aren't too loud.

What I am looking for: a bit of performance boost maybe, but more so a deeper throaty sound but not loud.

Any suggestions?

Yup, you need the Screamin' Eagle Street Performance muffs for your bike. They are street legal and have the certification stamped on the muffs just like the stock cans. But they are quite a bit louder than stock with a nice deep rumble.

Keep this in mind, however: If a particular Noise **** has it in his head that a "street legal" bike has to be as quiet as a Honda Gold Wing, then nothing stamped on a muffler is going to make one wit of difference when it comes time to write the ticket. If he can even hear your exhaust, you're going to get cited.

and technically the screamin eagles are not "legal" in Denver, they are legal in the state but not the city.

big shots aren't very loud if you are wearing ear plugs and ear muffs over top...
