just put my new pipes on the wideglide only the exhaust gaskets need replacing and the nearest dealer is 20 miles away do you think i could wind fire rope around the end of the exhaust and this will do the same job.

20 miles? Jeesh, that's around the corner for me. My nearest dealer is closer to 50 miles away. Personally, I'd get the correct, new parts for your swap.

 

I have the stock exhaust gaskets on my 2006 Bob and have had my exhaust on and off so many times that I can't remember.

Unless they are completely destroyed, just use the stockers.

 

i would get the new gaskets...a bike with a bad exhaust gasket sounds like ****............its worth doin right the first time..if they arent bad use them..

 

+1 I've got a spare set sitting around, just in case, but haven't needed them so far.
