Default my bike finally marked it's territory

went out to the garage this morning and low and behold I got a leak!...Sucky part is it is probably the primary seal around the tranny shaft...pull inner and outer to replace the thing... uuggg...
anyone have a way to replace the seals without getting a special puller to get the seal out of the primary?

I gently pryed my seal out with a small screwdriver. I don't think I need to tell you how important it is to be carefull.

i know its sounds stupid but i replaced half a quart of oil in my primary with bars leaks Engine Oil Stop Leak and it actually stopped leaking after a couple weeks.. hasnt leaked again in over 4 months.. it was seaping pretty bad around the shaft seal.. not enough to drip more than a drop a nite, but it was making a mess of the back rim while cruising..
i was a little concerned it might not react well with the clutch, but it actually works just as good as before if not better.. no garuntees but its worked for me.. ill replace the seal if the leak starts again..

Is this a real common issue still on Harleys? Just curious what I am getting myself into. My first Harley (09 street bob), been riding Hondas for 15 years (stop booing) and never once had any leaks or mechanical issues at all..

a good tip for replacing seals..........freeze them for about a hour before installation, makes them more rigid.......you can get a inexpensive seal driver kit at harbor freight for less than $20.....

I used an arbor press at my work. Your dealer should have a press and most likely would press it for you for free. Or try a local fab shop, If you came into my shop I wouldn't charge you for pressing a seal. It only takes a min.
