Corect me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only difference between SG and LR rims the black powdercoat/paint on the unmachined areas? Or is the machined area polished/plated as well?

Yup
The unmachined areas are powdercoated black. Everything else is just like the SG wheels.

After looking at my silver wheels for over a year now, I got used to it and like em just the way they are. Or at least till I have em blasted and chromed

I was thinking about powdercoating them all gloss black in next tire change.

Your friendly neighborhood powder coater can make your rims look the way you want for a fraction of the cost of replacing them.
