I am considering putting drag bars on my 99 FXDX with either a 6" or 8" rise. I have a 3" tank lift and am thinking on mounting the stock double gauges on the front of the bars. Has anyone done this and do you have pictures. Here are fairly recent pics of my bike (except now the tins are black).

go check out the sons of anarchy bikes on fx networks website. they have done what you are thinking to a couple of the shows bikes. No tanklifts on their bikes though.

 

I have 7'' rise on these drag bars

 

had them on 03 sg did not like them put buckhorns and they work forme. sit on bike and see what you want ,what works for one not another.We all are built different and do not have same riding styles

 

My bro did this with 6" risers. I'll see if I can get some pic of it.
