Default Black primary cover opinions...

I have been strongly thinking of pulling the covers and going satin black(not texture or wrinkle)... should I leave the chrome or go black.... what do y'all think?

You might want to consider satin black, but yes to black.

I'm kinda liking your bike how it is. I'd leave it.

I can tell you this...
My tank is semi-gloss black powder coat. It looks good right after I wax it, but it usually has a "clouded over" grayish haze to it. It's too glossy to have that "mean look", but not glossy enough to look like a professional black gloss job. In other words... it looks cheap. You may want to consider a full blown gloss primary if you don't want to go with wrinkle.

It is done... 3 coats of DEI high temp paint.... will dry overnight and cure in oven at 450º for a few hours tomorrow... The DEI is same as on my exhaust and matches the engine as well.

DEI makes the wrap for exhaust... they also have a Silicone high temp paint that is amazing... I bought to spray the wrap... I sprayed my exposed heat shields and the results are amazing... I dropped a wrench on my shields and it did not chip... Best rattlecan I have ever used. Found in the auto parts store by their exhaust wrap...I got at advance auto parts.
