I can tell you this...
My tank is semi-gloss black powder coat. It looks good right after I wax it, but it usually has a "clouded over" grayish haze to it. It's too glossy to have that "mean look", but not glossy enough to look like a professional black gloss job. In other words... it looks cheap. You may want to consider a full blown gloss primary if you don't want to go with wrinkle.

DEI makes the wrap for exhaust... they also have a Silicone high temp paint that is amazing... I bought to spray the wrap... I sprayed my exposed heat shields and the results are amazing... I dropped a wrench on my shields and it did not chip... Best rattlecan I have ever used. Found in the auto parts store by their exhaust wrap...I got at advance auto parts.
