Default Has anyone here heard of Kevin Blais from Blais Cycles of Miami, FL?

Hey guys,

I have had a VERY hard time trying to find a very good, reliable dyno technician. I called Petersons Harley Davidson of Miami, asking if they would tune my bike, but they won't since I have a power commander, so they referred me to Kevin Blais at Blais Cycles of Miami. Anyone ever heard of this guy? Any feedback on him? He's telling me the bike should take 3-4 hours to get it tuned, which sounds about right, and that he's going to charge me $325 +tax. What do you guys think? I'm really hesitant to shell out that sort of money not knowing if the guy will do a good job or not.

Anyway, thanks fella's!

Cheers,
Adrian

325 sounds pretty high... I think here in Dallas you can get a dyna tune for around 200.

Yeah, well, if it gets the job done right I don't care. I paid $150 for my first tune, and $160 for my 2nd tune and both of them SUCKED @SS. So, I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" really comes into play here.

Adrian,

Doc Weaver in Clermont just west of Orlando. The best in the world. I'm getting there myself someday. Find him... I hear he totally knows his stuff. I believe that he calls his business HD MD. Last time we talked he offered me an awesome deal on a tune and cams. He's a believer in cams.

Doc knows his business well.

To say he is the best in the world is probably not much of a stretch.

You will find his phone # here -

As much as I wish I could go with Doc to tune my bike, last time we spoke, he told me he doesn't actually have his own tuning center. He uses the facilities at Gaitor Harley (I think that was the place..) and the only way he can use those facilities is if he's doing an engine build, or working on a bike, which makes perfect sense. He's taught all the guys how to use the SERT there, so he seems to really know his stuff.. I just wish I had the money for him to do the build for me, but I don't.. he quoted me $1,200 I believe, which is an AWESOME deal, but I just can't fork out that much right now.

Shouldn't really be any tax at all if it's only labor being provided

may want to just ask Kevin the questions Doc pointed out in Mud's link and see how he answers.
