Default Heel rests (instead of floorboards?)

I've been searching about putting floorboards on my 08 Street Bob, but keeping the mid controls.

Now I am wondering about heel rests. Would these give me a more comfortable riding position than just the mids, i.e, a bit more stretched? My problem is I am short (5' - 4") and forward controls will be too stretched out. Even though I AM short, I just feel a bit cramped after a while with the mids. I know I could put highway pegs on, and may go that route, but was hoping to get some input on heel rests and what they may or may not do for me as far as riding comfort. Thanks!

I would go with highway pegs with heel rests. That way you can move around. Thats what I tried and ended up with forwards. The heel rests keep my feet from slipping down on the highway if that makes since.

Try some male mount mini floorboards, they go on ebay for about $46, they would replace your excisiting mid pegs, some have some angle adjustments holes.

I have the heel rest on foward controls and left one keeps getting loose because of boot shifting movement.

Like the mids on both my bikes. Gives me a sense of security when the weather or road conditions get crappy. Have highway pegs on the sportster, and have done long rides with it. Minis might have helped some with additional support and plan to put them on the lowrider. Have added Lindby crash bars and aux pegs to it already and really like the options they give, Looking forward to next summer and my 4 weeks vacation

My bike had the forwards on when I bought it. I can say that adding the heel rests to the forwards gave me a lot of relief. I constantly felt like my feet would slide back off the pegs. Not sure about the mids because I never had those.

I think the heel rests are just that; a place to rest your heels. I think the over all position is the same as how far forward they are.

I have shorter legs and just put a pair of HD Adjustable highway pegs on and they work great. I have them installed on the higher (or closer) position and they fit me great! I wanted them for the same reason you do -- To have another place to put my feet on the longer rides.

I am still replacing the mid pegs with Kury Dual pegs. I'm not sure if I will go with or without the heel stirup as well.

if you set up the heel rest properly, you can have a lot of positions for your feet...the arm can also be used to rest your heel on giving you more secure support to move your feet foward some without putting your heels on the top of the peg.

How about this, I have adjustable (front, back, angle) floorboards up at the forward pos. Because they are floorboards they are not that far forward, it really is different, BUT I also have my mid pegs on. I have a WIDE range of placement for my feet. I know that they are not for everyone, just wanted to give a little different perspective.
Good luck
