If the bike has not been tuned, get a tuner... along with the high-flow filter.
I'd do any power-adders at once... if you're considering a big-bore, cams, anything... I'd do it all at once, get it tuned, be done with it. But in any case your bike needs to be tuned if it has never had one. I'd also go with a good 2>1.

Yeah, I wouldn't. Maybe better shocks, lowering will eat away your lean angle... though it depends how you ride. You might not miss it.

Dealer or indy shop. Indy is often better...
Is it EFI or corroborated?
Either way you could funble with it yourself, but getting on a dyno tuner is really the best. I'd poke around your area and try and findout who is good.
