I would ask the seller if the cam chain tension shoes have been changed out yet or looked at. There is no magic mileage number that they should be changed out. 01 and 02 engines are currently considered the cream of the crop for the TC88's. The carbs are real easy to tune, might spend $9.00 doing it. It's agood bike, good luck with it.

As stated above, the cam tensioners are prone to going bad. The shop I take my bike to, say's that around 20,000 miles is when they usually go bad. I have around 22,000 miles on mine and no troubles yet. Was told if a rattling sound coming from up top was a good sign to get them checked. I love mine, it has been a great bike.
