Default Dyna Low. Popping, Stalling, Jerking Forward

While riding, my bike started popping, jerking forward and stalled. When riding in a high gear, 5th & 6th, the bike seemed to be running ok. When shifting to the lower gears and easing off the throttle is when the problem would occur. In addition, the bike was idling at an extremely high rate. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

What year....carb or FI? Where do you live..has the temp turned cold?
Could be an intake leak, and cold temps would make it worse.

I recently had a similar issue, it was due to the negative terminal coming loose at the battery. Harley tech at the dealership told me it's not uncommon due to the vibrations. I now carry a phillips screwdriver and a 10mm wrench with me everytime I ride.

first to check would be your battery connections. Sounds like the problem occurs when the bikes vibrations are increased.

Mine kept coming loose also until I used some blue loctite. No more problems.

Even with the locktite I still had an issue. The tech at the dealership told me it was likely because I had the battery tender connected between the bike cable and the battery. He said that the difference in metals of the two connectors causes some expansion and retraction. Thus, overcoming the locktite. Moved the cables around and I'm hopeful, but still carrying the tools.
