Default Dyna vs Softail

I keep looking for an inexpensive set of Thunderheaders. I just don't want to pay $500-$600 for a new set. Has anyone taken a set for a 99-05 softail/dyna and fitted them to 06-09 dyna? The 99-05 models seem to be more prevalent online, used. Since I'm runnin pcIII, I don't need to o2 ports.

I'd rather spend $300-$400 on a set than $500-$600.

I know the 05's are going to be 88in motors. Are the jugs that much different? Exhaust ports different (smaller?).

When I look at photos, the pipes don't look to be too much different and contacting Rich Products is impossible unless you're a dealer.

I have been watching and watching ebay but I never see any used sets for late model dyna's. Just early model (99-05) dynas and softails.

Just keep watchin, I've seen em on ebay for 06 and up from time to time. I know, whenever I watch for something it never comes up. But I'm sure if you buy a new one, the next day one will show up somewhere!

There is a set on there now, starting at $450 W/heat shields. Stated it's for 99-05 dynas but the bike pictured is a late model street bob. Little confusing.

Check out my sig or picture album. I put 99-05 softtail thunderheaders on my 08 FXDF. I had bungs added to run my Thundermax autotune module. Only thing I had to do was fab a bracket to work on my dyna. The transmission bolt locations are not the same from 05 to 06.
