I skipped the paint and powdercoat. I picked up some scrap soft leather at a fabric shop $4.00 and just covered the band up. I tucked it around the band and duct taped the back side before screwing it to the battey cover. It's been on for over 9,000 miles and 2 services.

Thanks, and use the idea if you want too. I got the idea when I stopped for my 3rd beer break while cutting grass at the house one day, it just popped into my head (go figure).
