I have thought about putting up my tins and buying an alternate set to have custom paintwork done. I'd like to use factory stuff, and I've come across several decent deals.

One option was an 02 DWG tank. I know the console is different and has the ignition switch in it...but other then that, what other physical differences are there?

 

the wdg tank is bigger and about 1-1/2 inches wider then the lowrider. iam doing the exact same thing to my 06 streetbob. i just bought a 06 wdg tank so i can have it painted. it looks like i can use my streetb0b console instead of changing the ignition to the console like the wdg. jackyl

 

Timberwolf just saw your PM the WG tank is a little wider but will bolt up the same as the FXDL tank other than the different console and moving wires and changing the electrical connections to match the WG its a direct bolt in. hope this helps

Are you saying that the WG tank is bigger therefore holding more fuel but is a direct bolt in replacement for the SB tank. I've got a complete set of black tins for a new paint job but would love to have more fuel capacity for those long runs. Maybe I should look for a WG tank before the new paint.

streetbob tank holds 4.9 gallons and the wdg holds 5.3 gallons, almost half gallon more. jackyl
