Question Which Mustang Seat?

I am looking to buy a Mustang seat for my 07 FXDC, thing is I can't decide whether to go with the smaller Original model (12.5" wide up front with 9" pillion), or the Wide model (16.5" front, 12.5" rear) ?

I would imagine the Wider one is more comfortable but have reservations about whether it will look too big on the bike. I am in the UK and haven't seen many bikes with these seats fitted.

I'm looking for opinions from any Mustang owners out there to help me make a choice please.

Its not the look's factor on there wide one that is an issue but rather if you do any city driving it was just too wide for city driving. When you constantly have to put your feet down, I had to always be spreading my legs wide like some cheap hooker. It was great for just rolling along for 100 or so miles / kilometers but sucked in the city. Got the 12 incher and couldnt be happier.

The non wide vintage solo seats for the 06-08 Dynas are actually 13.5 inches wide not 12 or 12.5 according to Mustangs site.

I have a 2007 FXDC and use the small, Mustang Vintage Solo seat - P/N: 76107. Do you carry a passenger often? If you do, then you may wish to get the smaller seat and pillion as you mention above. If you don't ride 2-up, take off your rear pegs and get the Mustang P/N 76107.

Thanks for the replies so far.....

Indeed, it looks like the front seat is 13.5"..... thanks PiginaBlanket.

Richard, I do carry pillion quite often so tending towards the smaller dual seat so far, I hadn't considered the width when in city either.

More opinions very welcome.

One thing I have got to say, I loved the Mustang vintago solo seat on my Sportster but I sat on a friends Street Bob the other day with a Mustang vintage solo and it was even nicer feeling. The back of the seat was a little taller and just felt better. I can't wait to get mine in the mail tomorrow and try it out this weekend.
