Part #'s 50210-06 and 49088-09....the former are $69.95 and the latter are $119.95....quite a *$&@# difference! Each are black, I just don't get why there's such disparity in $$$ there? Obviously the -09 set are newer, but they're just peg mounts...not a whole lot of gee-whiz factor to really add there. Any help?

 

i remember reading somewhere, something about the finish being different now. i don't remember if they're chrome or gloss black though. hell, i'm not even sure if i'm making this up.

Oh...that may be it. I've seen the new set specifically called "wrinkle black", and the older ones just "black"...maybe it's a flat or gloss finish on the older set. Whatever...not enough to make me spend $60 extra.

 

My brother bought stock passanger peg mounts in 2006 and they were wrinkle finish...about $70 if I remember right.

I bought the chrome and it was over $100.

Hard to say about HD...get the cheaper ones.

 

For future reference of anyone looking at these, I looked at both parts today at the dealer, both wrinkle black, both looked identical to me, but the cheaper -06 part included the bolts and mounting hardware for the pegs.

the more expensive, newer part did not.... go figure.

I do not know if they were made from the same material, but i know for almost 1/2 the price and 12 dollars in bolts you can guess the ones i got!!

It's because in 06' people didnt pay more for black than chrome. Times have changed in the age of the "dark custom". People (and HD) need to realize that good chrome is an extensive "process", and good wrinkle black is a rattle-can away!
