Default How much for '08 or '09 FXDF Fat Bob?

Considering the overall economic situation in the U.S., what do you think is a reasonable but still probable price for either a '08 or '09 Fat Bob?

Both bikes are in stock of the local dealer, just different colors. I want to get a really aggressive deal but don't want to waste anyone's time either.

Those of you who recently have bought Fat Bobs, how much have you paid?

I think the best comparison is the price for the bike itself including any freight/setup or any other non-state specific charges. Let's leave out tax and license as those obviously vary based on where you live.

Thanks, hoping to do a deal in the next couple of days!

Morning.
I've had my Fat Bob for a little over a month and just had the 1,000 mile check up. When I traded in my Sportster, they would only give me book price (the bike had only 3,600 miles and over a thousand dollars in extra equipment). I had originally looked a a couple of Street Bob's but thay had been sold so I had to decide whether to order a 09 bike or go with a 08 Fat Bob that they had in stock. I finally decided on the Fat Bob and the dealer took $1,500. off the 08 bike just to clear his show room. In the end after about another $1,000 in upgrades, I ended up spending about $17,000, which seems about normal. Good luck on your decision, I really enjoy the Fat Bob it is a great riding bike !https://www.hdforums.com/forum/image...s/rolleyes.gif

If they still have an '08 in stock, you should be able to "deal" on that bike. Anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 off MSRP is pretty common with most dealers.

For the '09, very few if any dealers will go below MSRP. And if they are selling over MSRP, I'd look somewhere else.

Of course there are the other fees you talked about, with freight and setup. Those fees vary quite a bit from one dealer to the next. Sometimes you can get them to throw in other accessories, but not always.

Keep in mind that the current "bad" economic situation is not affecting everyone in the same way. Some dealers are still selling new bikes almost as fast as they can get them in. Others are sitting on them for awhile. And as I said, if they still have an '08 Fat Bob they should be willing to deal on that bike. A lot of dealers can't keep the Fat Bob on the floor very long.

Default Latest offer...

Thanks guys for your help.

I now have the latest offer from the dealer as follows:

$14,795 for the base bike (2008 Vivid Black FXDF Fat Bob). The price includes factory alarm, freight & setup.

With my local license & sales tax the out-the-door price would be around $16,380.

After a couple of offer/counter-offer rounds we ended here and the sales manager said this is his bottom and let me walk out of the dealership without trying to get me write up a counter offer. He said he won't be able to move further, not even getting me discounted accessories to throw in.

Thoughts/comments/ideas?

Dealers around here (Cincinnati) are waving the set up fees for left over 08's

I would at least ask your dealer to do the same if you get an 08.

I just bought a metallic red 2009 Fat Bob in August. It has the security system and they threw in a sissy bar and pad for $16,500.00 out the door. My dealer was Wilkins in Barre, VT. Great people to do business with. Darn good salemen too. I went in to buy a pair of boots for a trip I was going on the next day and left with a new bike.
