I just bought mine last month here in Southern California
It is a 08 Fat Bob, pre owned, it is vivid black, security system and factory security, detachable backrest and detachable windshield, it had 3k miles
I paid 14k for it (plus tax and license) I really fell it was a fair deal, dealer is selling them around here for MSRP plus freight and set up, no deals

 

In round numbers, my '09 FAT BOB went for 15,000 + 330 freight charges. I bought it from a Rhode Island HD dealer last month. Bike was all stock, Vivid Black.

Why is it the darn sales tax seems to hurt the most ? Maybe Wall Street should be made to pay all biker's sales taxes for the next 20 years and we'll call it even.....

 

Here's how this story ended - on Sunday this past weekend I bought and took deliver of a new '08 Fat Bob in Vivid Black for $14,500 plus tax & license. This took about a week to negotiate (while having a deposit on the bike to keep it reserved for me) and it seemed their appetite grew significantly during that time as end-of-month started to loom around.

Bought my '08 Fat Bob from Capital City HD in Madison, WI for $13,495 ($2,000 off). Out the door with taxes. fees, etc. for $14,386.
