Default Super Glide Oil Spot

I am posting this for a friend. He has a 2006 Super Glide with around 18000 mile and has noticed what seems to be an oil mark on top of where the tranny and engine bolt together. He can clean it off and after some time it returns. We have checked the rear rocker box and starter area, they are dry, the dealer can't find where it's coming from either. He's not using any oil. The bike runs good, no other concerns. Any ideas of where we can look?

not an oil spot...that actually has to do with the raw aluminum contacting between the two seams... It's the same black stuff you get while sanding aluminum or polishing it... It is fine and normal.... he can use some Shout stain remover spray on it and it will rinse right off.

My 07 has the same thing. It's more of a stain than what I would call a spot and again it doesn't loose oil, so I don't worry about it. I assume it's normal. Hope I'm right. Good luck.

i have the silver motor and noticed it early on at various places. the dealer told me it was called ''weepage, it was normal, not as noticeable on black motors and not covered under warranty.'' as time goes on it seems to be happening less often. i use Goop hand cleaner to get it off

+1 on the metal to metal contact. My 02 has had the "spot" for a looooong time don't worry about it. I also use shout to help remove brake dust and road grime off the silver engine. The shout works pretty good.

Even if it is a very small oil leak or weeping , its nothing to worry about. Machinery will and always has leaked small amounts of fuel, oil, fluids, etc.I work on multi million dollar fighter jets and they leak fuel, oil, hydraulic oil, etc etc, and there are ALLOWABLE limits for such leakage. Just keep an eye on your fluid levels and press on with pride brother ! Now certainly if you have a leak thats starting to drip onto your garage floor, running down your engine cases etc, thats another issue and certainly something should be done to fix it.

If it looks like this, my dealer says it is normal. Still makes my head hurt but.....

I tried shout on mine and It did nothing. Any other cleaner that will do the trick?
