Fellow Harley rider & vietnam vet: Joe - in remembrance
I'm not sure if you guys/gals remember me posting my story about a dear friend of my family and the biggest Harley fan I've known (my inspiration in getting my first Harley) having complications after surgery and not being able to talk or move his legs and arms afterwards? This was about 2 years ago.
He had to sell his bike (naturally) shortly after that so someone here gave me the idea to give him a gremlin bell on my first visit to him in the nursing home. He cried and proudly hung it on the wall next to his bed and made SURE they moved it with him first thing whenever he changed rooms.
We just received word that he passed away this week at the nursing home in Temple,Tx, at the age of 75. We will really miss Joe.
I know that Joe is looking down on us all as we ride, so please, when you're out riding this week, give a honk or two for Joe. His funeral is tomorrow here in Texas.
His obituary:

(Notice the eagle and harley shirt he has on??!!)
