Default Detachable backrest rattling

I put a detachable backrest on my 08 FXDWG and it rattles. I've had detachables on three other bikes with no rattling whatsoever. There isn't much room for adjustment of the docking points. Any ideas?

run some black electrical tape inside the dock points on the bike. just need to go around once or twice... then lock it in... that should be enought to stop it

Mine do the same thing on a 2007 FXD. I will try the tape thing.

It's brand new and it's definitely loose at the docking points. I can move it about 1/16-1/8". I'd hate to think I have to use electrical tape on my brand new backrest.

elect tape will just reduce the gap that is left after they lock in place.

If it's an HD backrest I would carry it back to the dealer and have them lick the calf again.

Being so new, I think I will drop by the dealer and see what the parts guy has to say about it.

Same here, had mine coated and it is nice and snug. Being that you have a WG I dont know if you want to go that route. If the dealer doesnt have any sugestions and wont replace it, mabe you can slightly bend the front tabs until they contact both sides of the mounts.
