I've bought all my torque wrenches in pawn shops. You can generally find MAC or Snap-On if you look enough. My brother has a helicopter repair business, so he takes my wrenches and gets them calibrated along with his every year.

I have now, and always have had, both. Nowadays, I don't do as much heavy work anymore and find myself using the inch lb probably more, but still cant get along without both, in my opinion (which, according to my wife, isn't wanted).

Also when storing torque wrenches adjust the torque range back to 0 so there is no tension on the wrench while it is sitting in the tool box......

I had 2 torque wrenches and added a third when Sears had a sale. I also got adapters on sale for $9. The adapters have come in handy as well as extension bars to reach the idiot places that have fasteners.

I don't think it's possible to get 150-ft/lbs out of a 3/8 drive without shearing. I have a Craftsman clicker in 1/2 drive; prob'ly good for 30-100 ft/lb range (though it's rated for a wider range). I still need a good in/lb wrench, so I'll watch here for recommendations on a light-weight unit.

I went to Oreilly's in town and "borrowed" (with refunded deposit) one of theirs because Sears was sold out at the time. Now the work is done ans I still haven't bought one.

Craftsman, clicker type, one for in-lbs and one for ft-lbs. You need both.

I think O'reilly's everywhere have a loaner tool program. I have used it for a number of needed tools for car maintenance.

I have a Proto 1/2 inch drive 20 to 100 ft lb micrometer wrench but need an in lb wrench. My main and pretty much only criteria is that my tools are made un USA. I don't work on any of my stuff with cheap chinese junk.

buy and adjustable click, 3/8 drive....
If you have the money and want the best buy snap on, next Sturtevant Richmont, craftsman last.
We maintain, repair and calibrate all three at my gm plant and the snap ons always calibrate right on, sturtevant are pretty good, craftsman are ok to iffy...
