Default non chrome rear fender strut covers?

do they make such a thing? I am thinking about shortening the rear struts so I can bob the rear fender but still have enough support for a passenger seat.

My thought was to cut the strut covers, fabricate new ends and have them re-chromed, but then I wondered if maybe there was a model that came with non chrome struts that would fit...

any ideas?

The Super Glide sport came with wrinkle black strut covers. I think they made one in '03.

A semi gloss powder matches the frame perfect..

+1 on semi gloss black matching the frame and swing arm. My lowers and trees will soon wear semi gloss black as well.

I agree that would look good... I'm just going a different direction with the bike. I have always been a big fan of red and chrome. especially after seeing the SE bikes with this scheme on various HD showroom floors. I really like blacked out bikes, but this won't be one of them.

I may go with a paint to match the rest of the bike scheme though if it comes down to it.
