Exclamation I'm looking at buying and 01 Dyna wideglide Wrecked!

I'll know in a few hours if I'm going to be the owner of and 01 Dyna that was wrecked. The owner doesn't have a clue how to fix the bike or how bad the damage really is and couldn't supply me with an images to see if it's worth the trip to check it out. All he could tell me is it has 36 k on the bike and his father bought it new. He's asking 2,000 $ for it as is.
I'll be taking some images and post them once I get back if anyone's interested.
Are many of the 01 Dyna's fuel injected?

Post some pics of the damage. I always thought that it would be a good project to do what you are doing.

Here you go I'll keep the images in this album and update as I proceed.

I am going to need plenty of parts so if any one has anything that may do me some good be sure and let me know.
parts needed after taking a quick look.
After I get the clutch drum removed and the inner primary off I will know for sure if the engine case is broken. I'm guessing it IS.
the power shaft is what took the larges impact and is bent so a new bottom end will be needed.
rear head
inner and outer primary
compensator parts
alternator rotor and stator
the mounting ears for the transmission are snapped so I will either need a new transmission case of have them weld.
need all new sheet metal
front end tubes and top triple clamp is scraped.
need rear axle spacers and nut.
head lamp
seat
shocks
air cleaner
grips
brake and clutch controls and cables
handle bars
front wheel
as I said the bikes a real mess right now but I am excited to take her apart and see what more it may need.

Repairing this bike may not be feasible! its going to depend on finding parts at a good price. Regardless I've wanted to take apart a twin cam engine and nows my chance to do that.

Wow, that is pretty jacked up.

What kind of condition is the tank in? its not in any of the pics.

I think its a safe guess that the bike went down on the left side .

I really hope that you do decide to go through with rebuilding it, its not the destination its the journey.

pm or e-mail me with the price if you would.
I have the inner primary removed and it isn't pretty! the left case is gone as I imagined. This my be more expensive to rebuild than the bike is worth. then again I bought it with that in mind.
I see and engine and trans on ebay now that would be he fix but I am not sure if it would interchange with the Dyna.

transmission
this is one main reason I got this project, to learn more about the newer bikes from the inside out..
