I am looking at an '08 H-D marketing brochure (Harley Davidson, 2008 Motorcycles - the 105th Model Year) it does not show rake figures except to state that FXDWG is 34 degrees in the comments section. When I originally posted this, I was looking at the November 2007 American Iron Magazine, which shows all of the Dyna models have 29 degree rake except the FXDWG which has 33 degree rake ... yes, even FXDL is 29 degree. (However, it is possible AI mag got it wrong ....)
I do not claim to have information with respect to FXDWG frame, but from what I understand they share the same frame as the other Dynas ... therefore, the rake (4 degrees) is in the triple trees.

The 06 and up Wide Glides have a 34* degree neck and a 2* triple clamp. The other 06 and up Dyna's have a 29* neck and 0* triple clamps, except the Low Riders which have 1 1/2* triple clamps. Also Harley's web site "only" lists the degrees of rake in the neck. http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/Specs/full_specs/full_specs_08_page.jsp?HDCWPSession=Q0S2LVpWmHJZ12 z9HPxxQQHcpQjzBWsW9y1Lpq1S1sc1vNCCL2jv!-1841759430!-657059173&locale=en_US&dwp=&market=US&family=dy&mo del=fxdwg

If this is true, then installing Wide Glide triple trees on your bike only added 1/2 degree of rake. (I don't doubt that AI Mag could have made a misprint on the stats on the FXD lineup.) Any amount of lowering affect attributable to the incremental 1/2 degree of rake should have been negligible.
I also found it interesting that the MoCo makes such a big deal about how low the FXDL. There is only 1.7 inches difference in unladen seat height between the highest seat height (FXDWG) and the FXDL ... the FXDB has the same seat height as FXDL.
By the way, bro' you already know the props I give you on your bike ... man, it is off the hook!

FAQ "Rake Steering Head" vice "Fork Angle"

I cited above American Iron for the proposition that the FXDL has 29 degree rake. When I downloaded the '08 FXDL brochure from the MoCo website, it does indeed say the "Rake Steering Head" is 29 degrees. However, it also says that the fork angle is 30.5 degrees. This would indicate there is 1.5 degrees of rake in the FXDL triple trees ... consistent with WS6 Formula post.
I went further and downloaded the '08 FXDWG brochure. The FXDWG's "Rake Steering Head" is 34 degrees and the fork angle is 36 degrees indicating there is 2 degrees of rake in the FXDWG triple trees.
Attached are pages of the respective brochures that show the "Fork Angle" for FXDL and FXDWG.

not sure i follow here....why would this be any different?
secondly, did you use the wideglide tubes and sliders as well or the stock ones?
if you did use the standard dyna sliders, i guess i also wonder how the caliper still lines up with the brake rotor...unless the offset is built into the new rim...?
