Default TACH on a FATBOB???

Anyone out there that installed a tach on a Fat Bob? How hard was the job? Is it doable for the average mechanic?

Well, if you install one that is built into the speedometer it is very easy. Don't know if you're doing an external tach or what. Added the Marlins clock to to match it.

Man that Speedo/tach looks cool! And It was easy to install?? Is it from the HD catalog? .... And if you don't mind me asking ... what did they soak you for it? I wasn't even considering a tach but I really like the look of that speedo/tach! Very nice!!

That's a real nice unit. Really have to take your eyes off the road to see anything down there though. I prefer this location...

1) it's way cool
2) it's plug and play, so it's uber easy to install
3) it's from the HD catalog
4) it's about $500.00

Thanks for the info! Could be an update in the future for my Bob! I assume it doesn't support the clock since you added one. Does it support the other features like the low gas countdown and low gas light?

Just to be clear Ray, i was only commenting. The bike pictured in the post above with the tach in the console IS NOT MINE. It's db52's. Good question about the clock though, I was wondering the same thing.

Let me handle the clock question but everything benwiggin2 said is accurate. I bought mine before the newer model came out which looks exactly the same. Mine was $450 and the newer one is $500. The difference?.......for $50 more the clock is now built in. I would have liked it that way but it is what it is. If the model your looking at has an 08 at the end, that is the newer model. I did like adding the Marlins clock though. Order it through Zanotti or Surdyke and save 20% and no tax.

I also just ordered the Harley one I have to pick it up tomorrow. Its the one that has multiple color options for back lights and I think the face is just Black it was $500 with 20% off. So how was the install? Since the FB doesnt have a Tach any extra wires to run or is it just a harness that clips right in like changing your rear tail light?
