Default few questions and picture request for a 180 and 200 rear tires anyone??

Hey guys I really am having the itch to do something else to my bike but I'm having trouble deciding which way to go. I want a bigger rear tire, my personal opinion is the bigger the better but I don't want to go too nuts. I could get the 180 reatr tire kit from my local dealer for under $250 but I don't think I'll be happy. I'm still not sure how much it will cost to put a 200 on. My brother from another mother bosken enlightened me on the fact that I could have my rear wheel redone to fit a 200 and do some minor mods to the rear for it to fit. Could you guys with bigger tires please post rear end pics I'm just wondering if there is a noticible difference from behind. Also how much to have the rear wheel redone to keep my existing disc, hub, etc.

Thank you in advance.

Jason

I switched my wheels to Performance Machine. I went with an 18" in the back and have the 180. Because I went with new wheels, rotors, and pulley, it wasn't cheap...

Here's a comparison of the stock vs the 180. You can see how the tire fills the fender out nicely.

To me, the visual impact of the 200 vs. the 180 over the 180 vs. 160 isn't worth the cost and effort to go with a 200 tire. I agree, wider the better to a certain extent but it's hard to beat a tire that is designed to be "plug-n-play" on your bike (dyna) in the Dunlop 180 vs. having to change/modify rims, wiring, etc. to go with the 200. That's my opinion on it anyway. The 180 does make a big difference visually and it rides better than the 160 on top of that. I've heard rolling a 200 is still a nice ride but anything beyond that (wider) starts taking you the other way in the handling department. Check out my gallery for some before and after views if you want.

Heres mine. It's a Metzler 180 mounted on an 18x5.5 rim.

Default Rear Wheel

imjdoggie- I just finished putting a 190 Michelin tire on my street bob. I should have waited till winter to do the work but my 180 was getting bald and I just went for it. It took me almost 2 months, lots of money, and tons of aggravation to get it done. I had to have the pulley milled down to fit, grove a channel in the brake caliper so that the valve stem would clear, have the spacer cut down, not to mention what I paid for the wheel. Looking back now I should have put another 180 back on. Just ask bosken how much trouble it is to do. Just my .02. Check out my pics in my photo album.

Greg, I think the comparison photos I posted of your bike really show the difference well.
