Default For the Fab Savy Guys

Ok guys, this one is a challenge to the Fab guys, anyone thought about modding one of these to work on our dynas in place of the OEM taillight and license plate location. I think it would look pretty sweet, especially on the Bobs...... Any Ideas.

Smile Taillight,

By the way, I know they're for side mount applications but that isn't a option for those of us with bags.

if i had the time i would make a adapter for you, but time is scares for me anymore. if you havnt figured anything out in a month or so, drop me a line and i will see what i can do. i agree it would look sweet. the sideways plate one would probly be your best looking. because the side plate would cover the fender to much IMO. jackyl

Don't know what kind of modifying you want to do, but here's what I did.

I tried mounting stock turn signals to my fender once and the vibes eventually cracked the fender so i needed to replace it. Luckily I found a black fender on Ebay so it was a no-hassle job.

I cut the edge of the broken fender off and was able to fill in the hole where the original light was. The hole is covered, so I just went cheap and rivited it in place and painting the rivets black to blend in.

Not sure how those lights mount, but my plate / light mounted just like a license plate.

I had this diamond LED light on for a while, but changed it out for an oval normal bulb light that I think looks better.

The plate lights are wired so all are lit at hi-intensity for my tail light. The other is brake light only. I need to get a new pic with the new light, but you get the idea.

Maybe this will give you some ideas.

Nicely done, I think that is the thing I enjoy most about the forum, seeing the unique ways problems get solved. Afterall buying a part and bolting on is no where near as satisfying as making something work and look good.

Thank you...I was looking for something different but not too expensive.

The plate light does not give off enough light to work as a tail light and stop light for my purposes...just wouldn't feel safe with my daughter on there.

That's why I wired it on hi-intensity and added the second light.

I will try and get a new pic with the oval light.

Default Taillight

Mascman,
That plate/light looks awesome, I keep bouncing back between your idea and trying the old school round light idea.

I'd really like to see what the round light/plate setup would look on the fender, I wonder if anyone can photoshop it, I'm no good with that kind of thing......Anybody able to do this, if so, you can use the pic in my original post and the fender off Mascman's bike.....Let's see what ya got.

It'll work, and look just like Mascman's tail light, except round.
