It may be just the ones I have seen, but the Bob seems to be going for about the same price as the Wide Glide (because its the fad). Personally, if the price is the same, I would think it rediculous to go with a Bob. Its a WG with everything taken off.. The Bob is a great looking bike, but not much more than a stripped down Super Glide(base Dyna) that they charge a premium for.. I priced one out new in '06. The dealer had one left and quoted me $500 less than a WG. They did tell me that I could have a new '05 WG for MSRP, $500 less than the Bob.......... I walked out....

It all comes back to style, both are great bikes. What do you want the end result to look like? Is it closer to the Bob or WG? Thats the real question, and only you could really make the decision.. You wont be dissapointed either way..

i picked the bob obviously. everything the wg has can be done to the bob especially if you want to make it your own.

 

WG is an awesome bike! rare to see them on the road as well for some reason... I can not tell you what to get... i have an 06 bob... be sure you make sure that all the recalls have been adressed if you go with that... i love my bike...LOVE my bike... but the wide glide has just such a CLEAN look right from factory

 

What's your riding style and how long is your typical ride? The forward controls on the Wide Glide can make long distance rides less comfortable than they'd be on the Bob. I put a backrest on my WG which helps immensely. Also, I've never ridden a bob but I would expect it to handle a little better than the Wide since it's rake is probably a touch better for managing tight twisties.

 

Do you prefer wrinkle coated parts or chrome?

 

THE WIDE GLIDE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED?! Wow, I had no idea! Why would H-D do that? They were so cool!
