Default Windvest sizing

You can order a 18" Windvest if you are tall. I have one (with 2" Loner Industry risers) to get enough height (tall from waist up...). It is model 10-1655. I can still easily see over the shield the height has eliminated any buffeting. Having read through a number of threads on this site, the biggest disappointment in buying a shield is not having properly measured what the proper height should be based on how you normally sit on the bike. My wife has one too. They look good and you can put them on and take them off in five minutes.

Looking at getting a windvest for my 07 FXDB. Is there a good amount wind buffeting with this thing?

Default Buffeting

I think that most people who are disappointed with their windvests got the wrong height. My wife uses a 16" that sits 2" above her headlight and she is only 5' 7". She has no problem looking over the top. If I was going to do some heavy duty touring, I would get a shield with more coverage (width/lower etc.). For day trips, I don't think there is a shield that looks better with this functionality, keeping the wind off head and chest.

A 14" Windvest on my WG made a big difference in wind pressure against the chest.

Default Windvest

Ordered a new 14" Clear Windvest this last Friday. Hopeing to keep the wind off my chest and the bugs from hitting my face. I am short of stature so I figured the 14" one will do the trick.
