FatBob - Low Fuel light...
OK, so the low fuel light comes on around the 150 mile range, just how far can you go on a full tank with a stock 08 FatBob? (Running 91 Oct or better...) The bike has 11k miles on it, and i thought it would get better than 30 mpg. Anyway i just want to know so i can plan longer trips.. Have you got 200miles out of a tank at Hi-way cruz'n speeds? i can i get 160 , 170 out of it around town? or does the light mean I got a 5 miles till it stops?

Don't trust the light. Here's what you do, fill up your bike then reset the odometer to zero. Now ride around on the bike until the light comes on. Now stop and get gas (fill the tank back up) and take note of the mileage on the odometer and how many gallons you put in. Now take the mileage and divide it by the gallons (don't forget the partial gallons either for example 3.4 or whatever) the result is your gas mileage. Also you will now know how many gallons were used when the light came on.
Do this about 5 times to get an average.
I still rely on my odometer and reset it after every fill up. My light usually comes on with about 1 gallon left in the tank. I average about 50mpg on the highway and 32-35 in the city.

Well I'm sitting just an RCH above 1/2 tank and I've gone 90.5 miles. I know I've pushed it and let the needle fall BELOW the red well into the letter E. I haven't paid attention to my mileage before but I decided to this time. I'm hoping to squeeze 200 miles out of it. I do ride 80 highway miles a day. I'll know by friday.
