Default Cheap Mod

I was sitting around the garage this past weekend, drinking a couple beers and wanting something to do on the bike. I looked at the original air cleaner cover that I no longer use and had an idea. I cut the center of it out with a Dremel, rounded the edges with a bench grinder, and cut about 1/8" of rubber off a plumbing coupling to fill the gap once mounted. Want do you guys think? Has that been done already? Aww man, I never even looked there. Is there a free mod thread cause that's what it cost me. Unless you count the dozen or so Dremel cutting stones that I broke

Looks very, very good brotha! I believe a couple of people on these forums have been doing this for some people. I love the look. Good work man.

Mudpuddle has been doing that for people for a little while now...turns out great and really makes the air cleaner look custom while maintaining a factory feel...

Yep, my apologies to mudpuddle, never even thought to look if it had ever been done before. Still a cool look IMO.

Hey MT,
Sorry to hijack your thread, but wondering how you like the short shot pipes?
Are they manageable loud, or obnoxious, set-off-car-alarm loud?
