MTBlood,
Great minds think a like, welcome to the club of do it yourself free mods. I did mine a couple of years ago and may have been one of the first to post it on this forum, but I'm sure others have done this when Harley first came out with the oval cover, as you can see from a photo below that I took at a recent bike show (looks like that one has been around for a long time). It's a real nice free mod that cleans up the bike and gives a better view of the V Twin. As mentioned above, Mudpuddle has done a bunch of them for forum members and he also started up a good thread "How to - under fifty bux" that you should check out, see links below.

Hey man, no problem. The pipes aren't too lound, IMO. I've never set any car alarms off that I know of. They make quiet baffles for them if it doesn't fit your standards as well. I like the way they look, and sound.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. It was fun "fabricatiing" something new on the bike. I'll definately be doing other stuff to it

WS6 was the first one I ever saw, but like he said, there are likely others that had the same idea. Mud did mine-looks factory quality. I often run it paired with a smooth round cover (sig pic).

Is there a free mod thread cause that's what it cost me.
Unless you count the dozen or so Dremel cutting stones that I broke

Good job Blood.

I don't get the part you say about the rubber tubing.

I named this trick the "WS6 Style Cover" last year
after HDFDyna Brother FlyNavy
asked me to remove the chrome from his football.

I put a step by step of my technique here.
This is posting #642 of the Under 50 bux thread...........

Quick question about this mod.

I see you use a little different method for the 06 and 07... What about the 08??? Do you need to use the 12ga wire for extra space around the stock a/c decal???

Yeah, the 08 football is similar to the 07.

The 08s with the teardrop shape,
as opposed to the football shape, will NOT work.
teardrop covers will NOT work.
