Yes........... I purchased a set of Progressive 430.......11" shocks and man did that make a difference for me. I'm short and needed it lowered so my feet would lay flat on the ground, and I found it also lowered the center of gravity for me. I really like how it handles for me now. I also installed the Progressive front fork lowering kit.
The 2007 standard Dyna Low Rider shocks on my bike measured 12.6"....so I acutally lowered it by 1.6" and it's just fine. I've not scraped my Kury Dually's in turns yet either.

Are you talkin about lowering using new shocks or using the brackets to lower it? Lowering by using shorter shock is better, but I havn't heard too many bad things about the brackets. Shocks are obviously more expensive!

Tried lowering via the brackets last year.....didnt lower it enough for me, so we went ahead and did the new shocks. You MAYBE get 1/4" going the bracket way.

With the Progressive 430's, they are a tooless adjustable gas shock. Just twist and you're good go stiffer or softer in a heartbeat. Great for someone who rides 2 up every now and then, and need a stiffer ride, but when alone, want something softer. Yea, they're expensive but worth every dime we paid.

I use the brackets for more than 400 miles of riding......so I cant say one way or the other. What I can say for sure, that It was more unsafe for me ( a first time novice rider) to try and come to stops on my tip toes balancing a 670 pound bike.
I'm sure if you posted your 11.5" shocks on Ebay or here, you'll get a buyer for them. If I were you, I'd just go with the 11" shocks and be done with it.

OR...........you can look into a "lower" seat. That might just do the trick for you, and not compromise the structure.

Lowering blocks change the effective angle of your shock, which takes away from your shocks performance.

LWOS, You did exactly what I want to do with my 07 Low Rider. I'm not real comfortable at lights. I have a 81 FXWG (shovelhead) that is really...really comfortable. Where's a good site to get those Prog Susp. 430 shocks and the front fork lowering kit ? What does the front fork lowering kit consist of?
