Default Drag Bars on a Superglide

I want to put drag bars on my 2001 Dyna Superglide. Do I need to change the stock risers or any cables, or can I just swap out the bars?

You can just swap out the bars but that will put your bars pretty low and far away. Cables would probally be to long with this set-up but maybe able to make it work if thats the ride your looking for.

If you change risers you could probally go up to around a 4 inch riser with stock cables just depending on the bars. Anything over 4inchs then you may need some new cables.

Thanks! Think I'll try just the bars, and if they don't feel right I'll get the risers.

I had 4" risers on my Superglide. Look here to see some photos: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/members/69537-rowo-albums-404-1995-dyna-super-glide.html

If you put drags on the stock risers you will definetly have some issues, turnsignals will hit the tank, also the throttle cable will hit the tank. I used the stock riser with a 1/2" spacer and had to move the signals, modify the fork stops, get a shorter clutch cable and reroute the throttle cables and probably forgot something else, this with using a night train bar.

Go down to 28 inch bars then use 5in rizers with two inch pull back total seven inch high. Worked for me.

BBERK,
That's an amazing set up you have on the FXD. I have the same model and planning to change to a wider flatter handlebar. Thinking beach or drag bar with a riser. Trying to figure out how to handle the speedo set-up. You got a great set-up with yours!!!!

Man I am waiting for my drag bars to be delivered by ups today. I ordered 8" risers with a couple inches of pullback. I hope they are not going to be too high now after seeing those 4" ers. If they are, I only paid $99 oh well. Live and learn. Just got 2 inches of snow today anyway.

i have the fat bob set up on mine with the stock cables and I think the cables are still a little long and am going to go shorter as soon as I can afford to.
