Default Dumped Bike - Align Handlebars?

Slid out on sand going around a traffice circle today and dropped my bike. It's a 2007 Dyna Wide Glide.

Was only going around 10 miles per hour so it wasn't bad at all. Mostly I was mad at myself for not navigating the turn. Classic mistake I took my eye of where I was going and looked down at the sand patch on the side of the rode and sure enough dumped it.

Anyways the bike didn't get dinged up too bad. An end cap came off on of my grips and there where some scrapes on my clutch lever and a foot peg.

But I noticed my handlebars where slightly out of alignment. I rode home no problem but now I want to figure out what to do about the handlebar issue.

Attached is a picture and you can see the left side is not even with the right side relative to the fork table. So before I go to the repair shop any opinions on what the damage might be?

Thanks in advance

Looks like the handlebar clamps are bent or shifted out of alignment.

turn it to the stop and give it a good twist.
probably straighten right out, if not loosen the riser bolts, straighten, then tighten them up.

i agree with loosening the riser bolts and all that jazz, kind of surprised mine didn't get twisted my clutch lever dug into the ground too but my windshield clamp took most of the damage

If you still have the stock rubber riser bushings, I bet you can straighten them by taking the riser bolts loose, adjust them, then tighten to specs. Easy to do.

My opinion! I would not try to move them without taking the riser bolts loose.

If all else fails just break all the bolts loose and line everything up and retighten. Just for grins I'd take the bolts out that hold everything to the upper tree and make sure they weren't bent. Just for grins. Probably nothing wrong.

Just drop it on the opposite side. It worked to get them out of whack, so it should work just as well to get them back into whack. :-)

Default Thanks for the help

Thanks for the advice. I loosened the riser bolts for both sides and using "the old bicycle trick" holding the tire between my legs and moved the bars. It didn't have to move too much and the alignment much better. Might tweak it a bit more, but looks good. (see pic)

After fixing this I notice that my clutch pedal is bent. I'll open that on a new thread ...

freebyrd - hang in there bud, keep riding!
