Default Got mudpuddles air cleaner cover mod on (PICS)

What a difference this makes! Just by having the center part cut out of the stock air cleaner cover to fit the Big Sucker I put on my Street Bob, the whole look of the bike changes! Now it looks like I actually had a Stage 1 upgrade done to it. It's pouring out right now, or I'd be out riding and enjoying the open filter.

Anyways, I know he already has a thread for it, but I just wanted to create one to show off his work and recommend that anyone considering looking for an aftermarket cover for their round cover give his craftsmanship another look. I love how it maintains the factory look of the cover with the engine size and model name on it but with a totally custom style!

Nope, I avoid the rain. Might look into some type of a sock that fits these style filters for emergency situations that I can keep in my windshield bag.

Glad you like it Brent.
Looks real good on your machine.

A few weeks ago, rode mine forty miles in heavy rain.
70-80 mph all the way to town,
then slower for a few miles.

no problem.

had to pour the water out of my shoes,
but the machine ran fine.

yellow CorVette??

I'd like to know what you did to get it to run good in the rain

Mine starts spitting after about 10 minutes of a downpour

I like that look, but I can't decide if it's what I want to do with mine or not. My concern being rain, and the durability of the open filter. Do you see much of a difference performance-wise in the same filter, open or covered?

You are correct! 2006 Coupe.

And I've heard a mix bag regarding the rain. Some have said they've ridden 20K miles and never worried about rain and haven't had any issues in downpours and others have.

Personally, I hate riding in the rain so I avoid it at all costs. Chances are I won't be out if it's raining. If I get caught in it, I probably won't ride long so I'm not too worried. And I still have the original full cover just in case.

Good looking Vette Brent.
That camera angle really came out looking nice.

Speaking of rain, a friend has an 08 Vette and he got caught in
a come up out of nowhere turd floating Houston flood.
I believe the problem was a pretty low induction intake.
Sucked up a shi tload of h2o and hydrolocked the engine.
Dealer installed new engine with hot cam, headers etc, under warranty.

I've ridden many times in the rain over the last forty some odd years.
Anything from a drizzle to cats and dogs and little * babies.
I don't like it, but I don't like sitting under a bridge either.

That last episode, I was offered to leave my machine
and take a friends Camaro. I never leave the mudSickle behind.
