I have never heard of motorcycles needing a special bulb. H4 indicates the shape of the metal base. Never heard of a H4ST in any of the Narva, Philips or Hella gear

Maybe its marketing?

I believe it is supposed to be heavier duty to withstand vibration more. That's what I read somewhere before.
