Default Vance&Hines Straightshot Slip-ons

Just installed V&H Straightshot Slip-ons on my 2008 Superglide. They're a little loud for my liking so I ordered the Quiet Baffles. Anyone had experience installing the baffles and do they cut the noise.

I was afraid of that. I'd like something in-between the stockers and the longshots as far as loudness but have not heard of a decent comprimise.

Hope you like em when your done.

Not by much. Made it deeper sounding. I did the wifes without & mine with, hers was tinny sounding without, then we ordered and put the baffles in hers sounds much much better.

Steel Tiger1, did you have to take the mufflers off to install the baffles?

No you just have to slip the heat shields on the muffler down far enough to get to the set screw. The way the heat shields are designed they cover the baffle set screw. They were a very easy install.

I've got the V&H slipons and the quiet baffles do make a difference both in the sound quality (less raspy and throatier) but also give you a bit more back pressure and you can feel a little extra kick in the low end torque.

Yep , the Quiet baffles also greatly reduce popping. I actually think that the straightshots with the Quiet baffles yeild the best tone out there for around 325-350.

Default V&H Straightshots Slip-on

I just ordered set of Straightshots. Do I need to do the stage 1 air kit?

No mine is running fine. I just had the 1000 mile service and there were no lean issues. Run them then check your plugs. If they look good you don't need the A/C. If you get the A/C then you will need a fuel management system like the Fuelpak from V&H.
