Default dirty rims

i have a 05 super glide and i keep it clean at all times, i noticed my rims are looking dirty. i have the 13 spoke aluminum rims. i have cleaned them but i cant get them to look very good. the smoth part of the rim cleans up ok but the rough part of the rim is starting to look bad. i have used multiple types of rim cleaners and every thing i can find for brake dust but they still look dirty. does anybody know what will clean them so they look new again. thanks for any help

I wash my whole bike in simple green, then dry it with a big leak blower. Works great....

nevr dull. It takes some work but it cleans it all from the rough cast part of my wheels. Its a two step process.

Simple Green cleans them well but keep it of of the black parts of your engine if you have the black and chrome set-up as it will leave white residue on the black areas. Some orange oil cleaner works well also. Have always used Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish on my rims with great results.

Steel wool!!?? won't that scratch aluminum. I like to use lead wool, then after it dries I use it to refluff my kids' stuffed animals. Joke-no kids.
