Default Tire Pressure

Looking through my owners manual and cannot find what the proper tire pressure is for my 08 FXD. Just had the 1000 mile service and they have it at 35 for the front and 40 for the rear. This just seems a little high to me, any input?

Read the Max cold pressure on the side of the tire.

Remember what Obama said, air those tires up and we can save as much as we could get by drilling offshore. LOL.

the sticker on your right downtube... the one with the vin #.... It's on there...
on my 05 max PSI cold is 30 front and 40 rear... for solo I ride 30 front and 35 rear...
2 up goes to 40 rear... (as per service manual)

I beleive it's 30 for the front and 36 for the rear riding solo on the 08FXD. That's for cold tires.

I always check pressure cold and go 1 lb over the recommended pressure from the owners manual. This was recommended to me by the dealer. He states that most people neglect to check their pressure often and as fast as tires wear out that it was a good practice.

According to the manual, that is a little high, but still fine. That's about what I usually fill mine up to. I find 30 front is a little more "squishy" than I like. My manual calls for 30 front/36 rear solo, 30 front/40 rear 2-up. It's in one of the tables in the manual - look in the index.

Nothing to laugh at, it will increase mph and lower the amount of oil used right now.

68 million acres of current leases not being used by the oil companies and offshore drilling will save you, maybe, 5 cents in 10 years. All the while, your tax dollar subsidies going to the oil companies so they can buy back their stock and inflating the stock price. Exxon CEO compensation for last year was more than they spent on alternative energy development, where the subsidies are supposed to go.

Your regurgitation of right-wing talking points and ignorance is scary!
