Default Polished Covers (pics)

Finally got polished covers (primary, cam, tranny-side) on my bike after talking about it for a year now. I snapped a couple of quick shots between thunder showers- not the greatest quality but you can get the idea (also see sig pic if it works). I like the raw metal look (shame those Street Bob emblems didn't work). I'll post better pics of the whole bike later after I finish a couple of other things I'm doing.

The pics show the new shocks, too (Ted Tine FXD-CR). They are really nice from what I can tell so far...I'll post a review once I have a chance to get the setup perfected and run it hard some.

Here's a suggestion. When I had the polished alum. on my 02 FXD I used "Starbrite" marine polish in the blue plastic bottle to protect the aluminum from the dreaded water spots. It withstands heat real well, just wipe on, let haze, then wipe off. The covers do look real good. Bright work should be just that ,BRIGHT.

Looks real good there Dawg Rider. I like it, something different instead of chrome and easier on the wallet too. Hopefully I'll finish mine one of these days.

Thanks for the tip- I'll check it out. I think I may have gotten them a little too shiny, but I know that won't last, plus I wanted to get rid of every imperfection I could to start with.

Dawg, nice job, looks real good.

What technique did you use to remove powdercoat??

Same question on the actual polishing.
