mileage reinstatment

I'm changing my speedometer with another HD model.
Has anyone done this?
If so - how did you deal with mileage reinstatement? I know that the factory will do this, but what if I have the new speedo already in hand.
Can a dealer do this? I've heard both "yes" and "no" to this question. Does anyone know from experience?

I'm not aware of any dealers doing the mileage reinstatement.&nbsp\\; When I ordered mine, I had to give the mileage to the dealer and the mileage was put on the new speedo at the factory.

The instructions on my speedo imply that dealers can do it, give them a call
