RE: more custom rear fender setups for dynas
Guys, this is a great idea. You see so many slammed Hard and softails everywhere, why shouldn't the twin shockers join in on the fun?
I say cut off those fender struts and mount the fender to the swing arm. Put on short 10" rear progressives. Get that bad assed Exile hugger rear fender and drop it 1/4" off the rear tire. That would be quite a sight on a 'Bob.

Dude, there are a lot of reasons to buy this bike and not all of them are because of the HD version of a BOB. Mine will be way different when it is done and I will even be cusotme painting it myself and blowing away the black denim (horrors of horrors!!) I got the bike for mechanical reasons as much as any other. Make your bike your own. If that means keeping it stocl cool. If not cool. It's your scoot and it should reflect you and no one else. Cut, chop, weld and paint your way to happiness.

It's a sad day in Harleyville when there is so much resistance to individuals modding their own iron. The world can officially come to an end now..... and not a freakin' moment too soon. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

Chop, it, bob it, paint it, chrome it out, paint it all flat black.....who cares. Make it yours. I like them all inone way or another. And even if I dont prefer something, its still cool that who ever owns it made it theirs. I have seen a few abortions, but it wasnt my scooter so..... If they all looked the same it would be pretty friggin boreing. With a lot of the "chopper" shows makeing this scene popular, "cookie cutter" bikes are everywhere. Light up the torch and make it yours.

I love the look of both swingarm mount and strut mount. That little FXR is here in San Diego at Cycle Visions. Super nice bike. The question you have to ask yourself on making the decision is are you ever going to tote along a passenger. If you are. the swingarm mounted fender is going to make for a pretty rough ride. I'm personally going with a Jesse James type fender mounted to the struts similar to the second bike pictured. Right now I'm playing with a stock fender I bought off ebay for $14.50. I split it down the middle, widened it to 8.5" to cover my 180 wheel and tire. Next is to fill the taillight hole and all the mounting holes so I can mount it where I need it. I'm not too stoked on the ridges of the stock fenders but the radius is right and I'll know if I want to shell out the $$ for the Jesse James Tombstone.

Durf, I don't know if you saw but there is a guy selling the Tombstone for $99 Buy it Now on Ebay. I bought one from him and got it today. I'm waiting for my wheels to get in and mounted up before I start messing with the fender. I did take it out and hold it up and it's going to really make the back look a fair amount wider. It should be a few inches shorter too.
