I just figured out my speedo has an optic sensor.
My speedometer quit working so I started by cheching where it goes in to the trans,and figured out if the optic sensor,which to me is unusual gets dirty it wont work any more.I just cleaned it off and it works,I am glad I wrench my own bike cause how else u gonna know your machine.

 \\;but metal shavins and such still stick to it and need to be wiped off time to time. had simular issue.
