Default Need some ideas on cutting rear fender

Hey all, just want some input on to how I should cut my rear fender. I have the SE 180 on there, and I ride 2 up often so just wanted some input on what you guys think I should do. I was thinking about cutting around the fender rails, then back down the fender and make it spike at the end, or just cutting it straight leaving more of the rear tire exposed. Watcha guys think?

Ive also made a modification that makes my sissy bar detachable. I just have to losen up 4 screws then pop it off and tighten back up. Takes 2 minutes. I need to update my sig. photo. A LOT has changed since then.

A good thin air powered grinder works great. Remove fender, make cuts, repaint fender and reinstall. Really easy!

You ride two up alot?&nbsp\\; That woman's a keeper...cause I had nothing but complaints of the beyatches that used to straddle my Badlander seat...anyhoo, ifn' you're are married ask if she likes water and mud on her back too... cause if you hack the back fender she'll be wearing that goop.&nbsp\\; Oh well, if you do chop it, bob it.

Well some of the cut is already made for you. Go off the line of the tail light hole. I did it on my Sporty a few years ago. It was a clean look.

Haha yeah, my womans a keeper. Not married yet, just engaged. I spend a sh!tload of money on my bike and she doesnt mind. She actually supports me! I just ordered some progressive 412 HD 11 inch and a side mound tail light from dreamweaver so that I can do this project. Oh, and by the way, she loves the badlander seat. I rode 100 miles in about 4 hours time (slow beach ride) and she didnt complain once!

Check the JP Cycles catalog, they offered an aftermarket "bobbed" rear fender for the Sportster and Dyna models a few years back when I was building my sporty, gave it a nice cleaned up appearance. I went with the smooth/bobbed model which eliminated the rear taillight location then I added a sidemount taillight/license plate. Below is a pic of the rear fender I installed on the sporty.

Im trying not to spend anymore money on a fender, but if I have to, I will. I want to try and cut mine first before I buy one. So does anyone else have any other ideas/opinions?

Take off the tail light and use some pinstripe or thin tape and go with that line and curve it however you want. Just try it. It looks good.
